The Map Details

The most detailed level is the standard 1:24,000 scale U.S.G.S. quadrangles. These maps are best for a close look at the topography the Pacific Crest Trail travels over. The PCT, side trails, trail heads and nearby roads are enhanced over the original U.S.G.S. maps.

The next level is the 1:100,000 scale maps. These maps provide a wider view of adjoining trails, more distant trail heads, adjacent roads and towns.

The final level is the 1:250,000 scale maps that provide a "Highway Map" level of detail.
